From spin studios, yoga spaces and HIIT hubs, London has become an incubator of boutique fitness talent. And if you're anything like us, where fitness and design sit as two of our favourite things, you'll be feeling the capital's warm, health junkie embrace. Particularly so for any new settlers in town where securing fitness roots stands a top priority. The stabiliser to bring back a sense of schedule and body equilibrium, finding the right fitness space is key. H House is here to help with a profile of one of our top spaces in town; Another Space Covent Garden.
A new concept ‘drop-in fitness centre’, requiring no-membership and stress-free online booking system, Another Space has outposts in both Covent Garden and Bank. Not only does it offer some of the capital’s hottest fitness classes, from HIIT, boxing, yoga and more, it’s also a marathon in leading architecture and design, courtesy of award-winning London firm Goldstein Ween Architects.
A contemporary wonderland of loft-style dimensions, light-filled spaces and Nordic-influenced design, Another Space Covent Garden is undoubtedly cool. Its slick spaces are set against a blanket of pure white, natural floorboards and Crittall windows to deliver a fresh take on any day’s schedule of om or cardio.
And where to every Jekyll there's a Hyde, the studio’s contrasting dark-lit spaces especially devoted to spin classes are sensational. Neon up lights and 3D-wall installations amidst thumping tunes fuel motivation to get the heart racing.
The dream doesn’t stop there. Fitspo quotes in abundance to posh bathroom products within its equally luxe bathroom spaces, complete the Another Space experience. This studio is very clearly seeking to redefine luxury fitness and that it does with flying colours.
For those seeking that something extra, Another Space has also recently launched its own definition of boxing; Another Round. Built on the foundations of the Eight Limb method, hailing originally from Thailand as a form of Thai boxing characterised by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees and shins, Another Space is one of the first studios to bring this discipline to London’s masses. The class fuses a combination of footwork drills for agility, hand-eye coordination to quicken reaction timing and partner work with gloves and pads incorporating knees, elbows and shins for combat action. Another Round concludes with a series of bag work combining all drills to perfect your boxing technique.
Launched in 2016 and as the mastermind of fitness entrepreneur Colin Waggett, Another Space undoubtedly strikes the perfect chord between his luxury health destination Third Space and spin mecca Psycle. Harbouring a boutique feel à la Los Angeles and Sydney, we thank heavens above Another Space decided to take its star turn here in Central London. Armed with gloves, spin shoes and yoga mat, we’ll see you on the floor...
